Coronavirus: doesn't stop your dreams it makes them bigger!

With the world hitting the pause button due to Covid-19, it's easy to think you have to put your dreams on hold.

However, it's also a time when you can reflect on your goals in life and how studying in the UK may help you realise those goals. More than ever young people are starting to question "what the world will look like when we get through the pandemic?" And, perhaps more importantly, "what will my role be in this new world?"

One of the reasons we started UK University Services was because we recognised that every young person has their own unique dreams and ambitions. They each have a role to play in shaping the future of our planet and higher education can play a huge part in helping them achieve their goals.

In particular, studying in a different country can broaden young people's horizons and their outlook on life. International students in the UK become life-long friends with people from a wide range of backgrounds and being exposed to new challenges and ideas makes them see the world in a whole new light. In short, studying in the UK can be life-changing.

Of course, studying in the UK is often a significant financial investment and there is the desire for many students to get a 'financial return' through higher salaries and a chance to accelerate their careers.

However, whilst a degree from the UK can result in increased salaries, young people are often seeking more than simple monetary gain. They are increasingly keen to make a difference and have a positive impact on the world.

Students in the UK are studying and and researching how to improve crop yields to address hunger in developing nations, develop effective healthcare communications strategies to protect vulnerable groups, and engineer innovative solutions to make transport greener!

While the world's pause button is temporarily pressed, you too have the chance to imagine a better world and plan how you can play your part in acheiving it.

There are over 160 universities in the UK all playing a part in shaping our future world (from combatting disease to cleaning our atmosphere, ensuring adequate clean water and educating the next generation). Studying at one of these universities could enable you to play a world changing role and if you'd like to discuss how you can take the first step towards a UK university education get in touch with us for an informal conversation.

If 2020 has shown us anything it's that you should dream big, follow your heart and make a positive impact on the world!
